In an exhilarating preseason close, Chelsea and Wrexham completed in a 2-2 draw, showcasing profitable commissions from both flanks. Chelsea, fielding a mixture of first-team regulars and youthful candidates, faced a resilient Wrexham squad eager to demonstrate their mettle.
Twenty minutes of the base, dullest football you’ve ever visited — past of some ridiculous fisticuffs between ex-Premier League hardman James McClean and Levi Colwill — was observed by something a shred more lively in the foremost half, with Chelsea even driving to take the information thanks to a fortunate bounce in the second step of a junction. Set works were the best course we posed any real danger, with Reece James even hitting the shaft from a complimentary kick.
The second half started much the same manner the sooner ended, but then a midfield turnover directed to a purpose for Wrexham, taking benefit of some rather disorganized supporting as well: Luke Bolton departed with an easy finish at the far stick. And it called more sinister from there, with Wrexham taking benefit of a more horrible society and affordable turnovers to achieve a second, then almost achieving a third in a very comparable fashion as we closed the final ten minutes.
In those ten minutes, Chelsea eventually woke up and began to recreate a bit. We got our balance, but a winner would evade us.
Chelsea’s Performance:
- Goals: Chelsea’s purposes came from a combination of professional players and growing stars. The foremost goal was a well-taken walkout by one of the old players, showing clinical finishing. The second goal stressed the talent and possibility of an up-and-coming aptitude in the squad.
- Defense: The reason showed points of stability but also lapses that permitted Wrexham to capitalize. The team will likely concentrate on drawing up the defensive unit.
- Midfield: The midfield showed good ball possession and creativity, producing several profitable attacks. Nevertheless, there were times when Wrexham worked to disrupt their beat.
All in all, not a competition to place, nor one to encourage much faith in what we’re attempting to do. No real concepts in attack, no incisiveness in fanfare, and no organization in security, badly revealed by any midfield turnover. Sad stuff, also for a preseason conditioning exercise.
Nevertheless, it can only bring okay from here, right?
